HATCH: Taronga Accelerator Program 2020 Finalist!

Updated: Dec 10, 2021

We are thrilled to announce that TOMbag was selected as a finalist in HATCH: Taronga Accelerator Program 2020. As an environmentally focused accelerator program, HATCH aims to support, inspire and launch brilliant ideas and actions that address some of the most acute environmental and conservation challenges currently facing our planet.

To be selected into the program, TOMbag undertook a highly competitive national selection process, where our idea of reusable garbage bags was reviewed by a panel of Taronga and industry experts.

HATCH: Taronga Accelerator Program has launched this year as the next stage for Taronga’s Green Grants. Since 2011 Taronga Conservation Society Australia has awarded grants worth $150,000 assisting environmental innovation ideas and projects that tackle key issues, including illegal wildlife trade and plastic pollution. Among the previous grants’ recipients are such initiatives as Take 3 for the Sea and The Last Straw.

Being accepted into HATCH means the world to us - not only because participation in the program will allow us to polish our idea to perfection and deliver the product you and the planet deserve, but also because our mission to rid the world of single-use garbage bags has been recognised by such a reputable organisation as Taronga Conservation Society Australia.
